What exactly is a "weblet"?

A weblet is one or more professional looking web pages that can be created without any programming experience and used as an individual document or embedded in another site. RealFreeZone uses weblets to link scenes to paragraphs of text. In its most basic form a weblet consists of a single image, for example a digital photo, linked to a block of text. The digital photo is uploaded to the Weblet Editor where it is displayed in the Image Editor. Previewing the image creates a scene, which is associated with the text description on a single click of the mouse. The Image Editor allows for the definition of active zones for use in interactive image maps, and the viewing angle of very wide photos, or panoramas, which when viewed create the illusion of actually being on location. The Weblet Editor includes a 3D Model Choreographer to provide control over models created in Google SketchUp Pro™ and exported using the Hypercosm Teleporter. The complete automation of a weblet creates an animated walkthrough containing a combination of still images, interactive plans, 360° panoramic views, 3D models and Google Maps™. The weblet automatically adjusts the image and text layout to fit the available window or frame in which it is deployed and the style can be customized to blend seamlessly with an existing web page creating the impression that the content originates from the web site.

Technology

RealFreeZone is powered by a Villamation™ server. These complementary servers are pre-configured with the technologies, applications and databases required to deliver dynamic digital images and 3D models for use in third-party web sites without any additional programming or database design experience. As you can appreciate the research and development involved in deploying this level of content is the biggest obstacle to its use in most web sites.
